Brake Change 94 Honda Accord LX
 

I am attempting to change the rear disc brake pads on my 94 Accord. I am
having problems getting the plunger to puch back in. IN fact I am unable
to do so. What am I doing wrong? UNder the hood, the brake fluid
reservoir
appears to be seals with a sign stating high pressure fluid.

That is because the rear caliper pistons don't push back in and if you push
them to hard you will them up.

The pistons twist in and they make a tool to do that.

I have worked on several different rear disk brake systems (Honda, VW,
Nissan), and on all of them I have had to rotate the pistons clockwise
in order to push them back into the caliper. Has to do with the parking
brake self adjustment mechanism. On some cars you can use an allen
wrench to turn the pistons.

This information would be in any service manual for the car, Haynes,
Helm etc.

Like the others said... You're also looking at the wrong thing under the
hood.

Please read the OWNER'S MANUAL regarding brake fluid.

You are looking at the ABS reservoir. The the main brake reservoir is back
on the firewall directly in front of the brake pedal.
