Broken Hood Release

I managed to break the plastic handle off the hood release of my car this
morning when I was checking the oil. I have a 99 Civic Si. Whats the
easiest way to fix this? I haven't taken the housing off from around it, I
was wondering if this is an easy fix?

Attempt JBweld + fiberglass.
