Thank you for the info on my problem. I spoke to a Honda tech and he told

With an older car, you've got to accept that you'll be doing lots of little jobs all the time, and raising the hood at least once a week. You'll be on the constant lookout for sudden increases in oil consumption, leaks, rattles and other weird noises, rust, failed parts that are not obvious, all sorts of stuff.
