CD players won't play cdr's

I have a 2000 and a 2004 Accord. The 2004 is even worse at playing
cdr's. It will usually play the first several songs, then begins
skipping or shows disk error.

I had horrible problems in my 98 V-6 as well. I had the best success with
74 minute CD-Rs and not the 80s...

Do these CDRs play in your other CD players? If not, it may be a
problem with your CD burner. Maybe it's messed up or maybe try
recording at lower speed, like 2x or 4x.

I had a 2000 Accord and it played every single CDR that I burned.
Granted it was an old burner and could only burn at 2x.

Cheers,

Pete

I have an 2000 Civic and an 03 CRV and both play CD-R's fine. In fact,
they're the cheapest 80 minute CD's out there, a box of 200 for $50 with a
$50 rebate something like 2 or 3 years ago. I've burned with 2 different
burners and 2 different software types and never had one that wouldn't work
in either Honda or my old Saturn I used to have.

Could be your recorder or the media you use. I have no problems with
my 2003 Accord. It plays Fuji and Ridata CD-Rs some burned on an old
Yamaha 16x CD burner and some on a new NEC DVD burner.

The recording speed is definitely a factor. I found that CD-Rs recorded
at less than 8x are almost guaranteed to work in any player. At higher
speeds they tend to have problems, although not all which brings the
next factor.

Use only quality CD-Rs, not the no-name silver painted ones. It may be a
bit more expensive, but it's very likely that you'll listen to those CDs
for a long time (I have a Bet.E&Stef album I recorded 5 years ago and I
still listen to it). They last much longer and they are more likely to
play in all stereos.
