Check engine light on
 
01 CR-V I left the gas cap loose and the check engine light came
on, how do you re-set it.

Should reset itself after 3 "moderate" trips.

Should reset itself after 3 "moderate" trips.

As Seth says, it will get tired of bothering you in a few days of normal
driving. Otherwise, many auto parts chains will read your codes and try to
reset them for free (in hopes the codes will point to a part you will buy
from them).
