Chime when door is open???
 
After my 1994 Civic got stolen, I had to get a new ignition put in.
Ever since then, any time my door is open, the chime goes off,
regardless of key in the ignition or headlights on/off, etc. Is there
any way to stop the chime without disabling the auto-dome light?

Absolutely. At the back side of the fuse box there is a box called the
ICU, or integrated control unit, and this is where the chime sits.
Plugged into the back of this ICU is a connector with 7 or 8 wires in
it. Wire colors as follows (in order from one end to the other:

BLU/GRN
BLU/WHT(1)
YEL/BLU
BLK/GRN (Canada only)
RED/BLU
LT GRN/RED
GRN/BLU
BLU/WHT(2)

The last one, BLU/WHT(2) is the wire from the switch that is activated
when you stick the key into the ignition. Cut this wire, and the
key-in-ignition chime will be out of commission. All the other alarms
will work as before, as will the dome light.

It is easier to get access to the back of the fuse box if you first
remove the lower dash cover on the driver's side. Remove three screws
along the upper edge of the lower cover, and swing it down then remove.

There is also the knee bolster, you'll see it after you remove the lower
dash cover. I don't remember if removing it gives any better access, but
it is easy to remove should you want to do so. One bolt in each and,
then slide it (up???) out of the tabs and remove.

Remember to tape up the wire stubs to avond short circuits. When you cut
the wire, you may want to cut it far enough away from the connector that
you will be able to splice it back together later, should you so desire.

Probably a shorted key sensing switch inside the ignition assembly.
Stop it by disconnecting the 2-pin wire.

THANK YOU! I very much appreciate that info, it has been driving me
BONKERS. Although, not as much as having to drive on 175/70R13's
instead of my old stolen 205/50R15's....sigh....
