chirpy rear brakes on 98 Civic sedan
I have a 98 Civic sedan and have noticed that the rear brakes "chirp" when I
let off the brake pedal....They don't squeel when I apply the brake, just when I release it.... I think that the noise occurs when the rear calipers are applied to the drum..The noise also occurs when I lift the handbrake up and down.. Any ideas on how to fix this?? I don't want to go to a brake shop (Midas) as I am sure that they will try to sell me a whole new brake kit... Thanks, MG |

OK
i had the same problem. that indicates that your brake pads need too be changed. after some time the brakes gona make that sound all the time eve if you not using brakes.brake pads have a installed like alarm thing. thats why you hear this sound.that helps not to screw up your brake rotors or drums.
