sounds like a problem with the blower motor bearings. you'll have to
get in there and investigate.

unless yours is somehow different to mine, that's not true. you need to
remove the glove box, but once done, you can access everything and you
leave the a/c alone.

the best manual for the car is the honda factory service manual from
helminc.com.

yes. and again, the honda manual is your best investment in keeping
this vehicle on the road.

If you're talking about the heater fan (inside the car), just go to
www.slhondaparts.com and look at your parts list. On most HONDAS the fan
drops out the bottom of the heater box without removing too much else.

An air hose, a good flashlight and a small mirror will be abig help
cleaning / inspecting the motor and core while you're there.

civic blower problems - runs when cool - then slows/stops

I have 1994 civic EX . when car has not been running for 1/2 hour or more -
blower works fine all 4 speeds - ac/heat. after running 10-15 min it
starts slowing down & eventually quits. not really a problem if driving
down hwy, since fresh air draft is ok - other controls work fine.

I don't think it's switches or fuses - i guess that leaves resistor or
blower motor - but i don't know enough to guess which.

Thanks - Bearings would make sense - and I guess account for ticking sound
as motor warms up. I guess that sounds like blower replacement, which -
according to chiltons, entails removing the evaporator - and since i don't
have tools to evac system means i need to farm it out. Any recs on whether
i should go to dealer - or a/c specialist - and how much it should cost in
US?

I would also like to figure out how to get cruise control working on this
puppy. Light comes on when CC button is pressed, but no other respone at
all. I can check continuity, and read a multimeter - but i need better step
by step to figure it out than chiltons - or i need to figure out who to
get to do it.
Should I post this as separate topic?

Thanks - I'll take a look and see - and look into the manual too.

Re: civic blower problems - runs when cool - then slows/stops

Thanks,
the motor does drop out the bottom. - sqirrel cage was full of leaves -
but i think motor has bad start capacitor - that doesnt kick it enough
voltage once it gets a little warm. motor seems to run good at all speeds
if you start it in motion - sounds like replacing the motor will do the
trick to me - but i'm open to other opinions.
