CR-V Trailer Light Harness

I am considering buying a small trailer to tow with my 2003 CR-V.
Web info says I will need a Tail Light Converter because the CR-V has
(amber) turn signals that are separate from the brake lights.

The Honda (optional) Trailer Light Harness plugs into a connector behind the
left panel in the cargo area and extends a pigtail out under the bumper with
a connector for the trailer.
The Honda Trailer Light Harness has a built-in 'converter'.

Can anyone tell me what it does?
Is it a Tail Light Converter?
Can you point me to a website where I can see a wiring diagram of the
harness?

Thanks for help
Carl
