Exterior Temperature Sensor on CRV

I have an 05 CRV and I have a question about the exterior temp sensor.
The outside temp here (Winnipeg, Canada) this morning is minus 35, but the
temp sensor only reads minus 30.
Does anyone know if there is a limit on how low the sensor will read?
Thanks.

I'm not trying to be sarcastic but, when the temperature is that low, does
five degrees really make a difference? Out here on the East Coast, it
doesn't.

I'm just curious.
I hear you guys batton the hatches after -10 and would never see that low a

where is the sensor located? you have a nice warm engine wasting heat
all around it. if the sensor's anywhere near a zone where that heat's
leaking, pretty much anywhere on a conductive metal car, you're unlikely
to get a true atmospheric reading.

I think the temperature sensor on my 04 Accord is under the bumper, yours
may be in a similar place. Is the temperature gauge normally pretty
accurate? If not, then you might have to adjust the gauge. Your manual
should tell you how to do this (mine does). If it is usually accurate then
I'd say you've hit the lower limit.

LOL! Not likely! We usually get temperatures that hit -12 or so once in
awhile, but gone are the days when we get anything really cold. There was a
time when we'd have two weeks (usually in February) when the temperature
would drop to -20 to -25 and stay there (we'd still carryon with every
aspect of life here). But it hasn't happened in a few years now.
