Front end noise on CRV

Maybe someone can help me. I have a 03 CRV, 5spd, 4wd. My CRV is 6months old
with 6100 miles, no previous accidents and I saw them take it off the
delivery truck. When I turn the wheel to the left 45 degrees there is a loud
clunk from the passenger side front end. Just started a week ago. This can
be felt in the floor board! Took it to the dealer and they are mystified.
Everything looks okay and they can't tell what its from. They are going to
call Honda and ask them about any problems like this before they start
replacing the suspension.
Anyone else have this problem or hear about it?
Thanks in advance.
Bob

I suspect there is something wrong with the suspension system. It's
usually hard to find these type of problems since everything looks alright
when the vehicle is placed on a lift. Ask the service manager to have his
best mechanic take it on a test ride. If possible, go with him. Have him
take it around some 45 degree turns such as in a large empty parking lot.
You might find such a parking lot near the dealership ahead of time so you
will have a place to take the 45 degree turns. He may be able to figure
out the source of the problem.

I also had this exact problem. The dealer tightened the mounting bolts
for the right front shock tower and the noise went away.

Bob, I don't know if this will be helpful to you at all, and sorry if my
terminology is off, but I was having some clunking sounds that I
couldn't figure out. Earlier, I'd been told that one sound I would hear
occasionally was the brake pads shifting (I think. :-/ ) This was not
the same sound and it was intermittent--I couldn't pinpoint a specific
incidence when it happened. Took a service guy for a ride -- we didn't
get out of the parking lot before he heard it and identified it. Turns
out that my left front strut was decomposing from within (I think that's
what the guys said). They replaced both front struts and realigned the
wheels. CRV E, auto transmission, 4WD; 5000 miles, purchased May 28,
2003. FWIW.
