HELP - Question on Honda Extended Warranty - N.A.D.S" etc....for new Element
Hi,
Hope one of you can lend some help. I just bought a new 2004 Element, and the dealer offers an extended warranty (of course!). I've only seen a "Example" contract...but I'd like to get feedback about whether this is really a Honda contrcat or ??? The first page...titled " Service Contract Reimbursemnet Guarantee" in a "N.A.D.S" document....a company (?) in Lakewood Colorado...seemingly offering that I can get a refund as long as i don't "use" the contract!!! Still, key information (like what IS coveraged) seems to be not well disclosed....on;y "Examples of Systems covered". And, so far the sample contract presenet, doesn't have any other "signature page" showing actually whom is tyhe contract between! I'm interested in a Honda Factory extended warranty, noit some crap administrated by a 3rd party! I assume one of you guys actually could shed some light on this...SOON PLEASE!!!! Seeker |

Why worry about exented warranty for the first 3 yrs?
I bought a extented warranty on the web, sold the vehicle after the warranty company put out over $1500.00, and they re-imbursed me the balance of the warranty. They probably all go thru a third party, they all get a piece of the pie. Re: HELP - Question on Honda Extended Warranty - N.A.D.S" etc....for new Element
The factory Honda warranty will say Honda Care on it somewhere. If not,
then it isn't Honda backed. Also check out http://www.curryhondacare.com/?source=overture This website gives the price you should be paying at the dealer. Print the website pricing page and your dealer will give you the factory backed warranty for that price. If they dicker with you, go elsewhere. That web's pricing cuts the dealership out of any markup on the warranty. Or so I was told. My copy of the Honda Care warranty says it in the top right corner. Good luck the Element. Re: HELP - Question on Honda Extended Warranty - N.A.D.S" etc....for new Element
I was told that you are charged more for the warranty if you wait any time
after purchase. I suppose that is why the Honda Care website asks for your milage when quoting prices. Test it some time. The price goes up as you add miles to the vehicle. Sure sounds like a third party contract. Personally I generally do not buy extended warranties, and when I do I insist on one from the vehicle mfg. Third party companies generate higher profits for the dealer ... guess where that money comes from ??? John |
