honda 91 accord noise

My 91 honda is making noises when you sit idle and accelerate. Its a loud
brring sound. Is it safe to drive long distances (six hours) with it doing
this?

take it to a shop & get it checked out properly. right away. your
description is just not specific enough for anyone to be helpful with
the problem, but whatever it is, you could be stranded a /long/ way from
home.

Sounds like a heat shield on the exhaust. Cheap and simple. Drive forever
with that.

BUT: Get a competent shop to check it out to confirm!

Honda and a few other automakers employ noise to alert driver of impending
damage. 90% of the time it will lead to a serious failure. You could call to a
service station. Use a wireless phone to troubleshoot it.
