Honda complaints
DETROIT (Reuters) -- U.S. safety officials have upgraded an investigation
into about 1.4 million Honda vehicles after hundreds of complaints and some injury reports that the vehicle's keys could be taken out of the ignition with the transmission not shifted to park. According to U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents retrieved on Tuesday, the agency has upgraded its preliminary investigation into 1.3 million Honda Accord sedans from model years 1998 to 2001, as well as about 62,000 Honda CR-V sport utility vehicles from 2002. |
Re: Honda complaints
How times change. My 1960 Cadillac was designed to allow the key to be
removed from the ignition with the engine running. Nope. Seems Honda is still suffering from this problem still. Both my
Brother's Acura and sister's 2003 Civic had this problem. On Fri, 19 Sep 2003 15:21:32 GMT, "thomas woolery" <twoolery@woh.rr.com> wrote: >has anyone had a problem with rocking drivers seat in the >2001 civic. has been "fixed" twice. replace bushings I beleive. >anyone know of a permanent fix? > |

Re: Honda complaints
We bought our brand new Honda Odyssey from Norm Reeves Honda of Huntington Beach, CA. One day we received a letter explaining that the transmission had had problems and that the transmission warranty would be extended to 100,000 miles and 7 years. Great! Sure enough this year, 2004, the transmission has started acting up. I called my local dealer and was informed that not only would they not look at it on a Saturday they would not repair it on a Saturday. Furthermore, Norm Reeves Honda would require 4 days or more to repair it. Well. Surely they would supply me with a loaner until the repairs had been completed, since it was they who had sold me the defective product. I talked to everyone that I could; no one would help me. I would have to rent a car for the full time the Odyssey was in the shop. No guarantees how long that would be. I then started sending emails to Norm Reeves (contacthb@normreeves.com), 20 in all asking for someone to contact me and help me. I did not get one response. That is why I find myself here to tell anyone who would listen. DON’T BUY CARS FROM HONDA AND ESPECIALLY NOT FROM NORM REEVES HONDA OF HUNTINGTON BEACH. Next time it’s a Toyota. This was probably a policy of Frank Leta Honda and not a policy of the Honda Corporation. This means that any Honda dealer will or will not provide loaner cars--it's strickly up to each dealership. -- NEWSGROUP SUBSCRIBERS MOTTO We respect those subscribers that ask for advice or provide advice.
