Re: How much do you pay for you Honda car insurance?
2003 element costs me about $600/year for some pretty high numbered
full coverage. Deductible is, I believe, $250. J On Tue, 15 Jul 2003 17:00:18 GMT, "HW" <:p@hotmail.com> wrote: >I am paying almost $1800CAD for my 98 Accord Lx in Vancouver, B.C. > >How much do you pay? > >Hw > |

Re: How much do you pay for you Honda car insurance?
The biggest variables for car insurance are you -- your age, driving
record, etc. -- and the liabilities limits you opt for in the policy. Unless you have a special car that carries a high premium like a Corvette, the make and model are not the prime determinants. Accords are within the standard range for insurance. I compared several cars with my insurance agent before purchasing my Accord. They were all about the same (Camry, Accord, Passat et al). On the other hand, the rates for my daughter driving a 8 year old car are three times my rates mostly because she's 18. The collision and comprehensive are just about the same. The liability is a lot higher. Comparing prices without knowing the other details is meaningless. Re: How much do you pay for you Honda car insurance?
With ICBC count your blessings. You would pay more for private insurance
elsewhere in Canada these days. The insurance industry lost money on lots of their equity investments so they have to make it up by charging customers more. They screw up and you pay more - and they are not as truly competitive as you may think. Great business! This is one of the growth areas for GE now. Plastics, Turbines blah. Insurance Yah! Hard to believe, eh? Re: How much do you pay for you Honda car insurance?
The cost of car insurance varies as described in other posts, but it also
varies considerably depending on what state you live in. New Jersey, Conn, Calif, and Mass have some of the highest car insurance rates on the continent. Your premium you pay is similar to costs in Calif, with the conversion of currency taken into account. There's talk down here from the insurance companies, that they 'might' start refusing to insure vehicles older than ten years. That will put a serious dent in the pocket book of people that are driving vehicles older than a decade. -- Brian www.accesswave.ca/~orion |

Insurance for a 2003 Accord LX V6 in Nelson BC (interior of BC) is $1374
with replacement cost, $5mil liability, $300 deductable on colision and comp. "That does make a large difference. I can see refusing to cover vehicles that aren't road worthy, but to just have a blanket policy of 10 years sucks. I recently sold a '86 Prelude with 350k Km, (still going through withdrawls, but the new owner said I can visit) it was in better shape that cars that are under 10 years old. |
