HUGE odometer problem 2007 Civic

A few days ago my car had about 43,000 miles on it.

Got in car today it says 69,444 miles. WHAT IS THIS??? Has anyone else
had thiis problem? Will dealer believe me when I tell them to fix it and
how much miles were really on car??? Wife drove car and drives with brake
on a lot but not sure if this had anything to do with this problem.

THIS is a problem in itself, not a "side issue!"

Hi,
If it is a newer car, engine ECU will store the mileage. I was told by a
dealer. Don't know if it is true or not.

Are you sure you're not looking at the trip odometer that may say 694.44 or
6944.4?

When you figure how to change the display back from km to miles it will read
43,150. Look in the owner's manual for details.

Hi,

Your odometer somehow got switched over to kilometers...

(69,444 kilometers = 43,150.5 miles... check it out.)

As far as the parking brake issue... I don't think it would be difficult
to cobble her up a parking brake 'on' warning buzzer.

Good luck!

Erik

I'm betting on the miles to metric issue, you're reading KMs.

That's a lot of miles for an 07!

I think we have a winner. I didn't even consider the possibility of km to
miles when I suggested toggling between the main and trip odo's. :-)

isn't there a dash light to tell the parking brake is on?
Wire a piezo buzzer to that.

Maybe wire it to a conductive polymer that will send a gentle reminder up
through the steering column.

I was going to suggest the seat, but a psych friend of mine loaned me
his latest issue of the APA Journal, which had an interesting article
about a study that showed that 25+% of women might enjoy that.

When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams come true.
Unless it's really a meteorite hurtling to the Earth which
will destroy all life. Then you're pretty much hosed no
matter what you wish for. Unless it's death by meteor.
