Just bought a new Civic

I just bought a Civic 2003 DXG 2 days ago.

I'm interested to know if any of you have any good/bad history with this
model/year?
Any thing i can expect? Has to be head and shoulders better then my taurus
was for upkeep.
Thanks for you help.

I don't have one but have heard and read from others that it's a great
car. Make sure you have the oil changed every three thousand miles. The
coolant and transmission fluid should be changed every two years. Post
your questions here regarding other items.

Why does the engine oil need changing every 3000 miles in your view,
which seems out of kilter with the view of Honda? Or is Honda a high
maintenance cost vehicle with a poor engine life where you are?

I just got done putting 114,000 miles on a 1997 CRV (Civic Recreation
Vehicle). It still has the original battery and exhaust. The only things
I changed were tires and a timing belt. It still runs excellently.
Sometimes I did not change the oil for 6000 miles - no big deal. My CRV
runs just as good as it did new. I expect the second owner will take it
to 200,000 miles - no sweat.
