Re: K&N AIR FILTERS AND HONDA'S
I use a K&N in my civic. I think it helps, but
I have also read that they don't filter as well as they claim. Its worth looking into before you invest the $60-100.... There was a thread on here I think about 2 months ago that had a link showing the research. Can't remember it though. As for me? I will keep using it. I got a mileage improvement when I started using it, and its saved me money, plus its less landfill.... t |

Re: K&N AIR FILTERS AND HONDA'S
I used a K&N in my 02 Civic LX. It worked very well as far as I could tell.
It seemed to improve my gas milage by about 1 or 2 MPG. The car seemed to react to the gas pedal a little faster with it also. I know I could tell the difference... Then again, I also removed the resonator box/tank also "disallow" <loewen_t at yahoo.ca @> wrote in message news:4ac8fa7a13ca02bbfa5400cb38966570@localhost.ta lkaboutautos.com... >I use a K&N in my civic. Re: K&N AIR FILTERS AND HONDA'S
It's all pros and cons. The pro being better air flow, better mileage, a
hair more power, not having to buy another air filter. The con is initial cost and the fact the more dirt does go into your engine and thereby your crankcase. This in fact increases engine wear and would warrant more frequent oil changes thereby possibly negating any kind of cost savings in not having to buy air filters. Also the extra oil changes wouldn't necessarily be good for the environment and you would be using more oil resources over the life of your car. You would be better off to just use the paper filters.
