Keyless Entry - Canadian CRV's ?
From several web sites, it appears that 1997-2002 CRV LX models in USA
had wiring and receiver for keyless entry pre-installed. All that is required to complete the system is the keyfob, available via mail order for approxc $50, which can be manually programmed. (Dealers wouldn't tell you this, but charge approx $200 for 'installation' of the keyless system.) Does anyone know if this is also true for the Canadian CRV's and if so, are the keyfobs available from US internet companies (such as http://www.handa-accessories.com/ ) compatable with the receivers? -- remove nospam to reply |

Don't expect a great deal just because it's 'rare'. Contact me, I'll tell you what I found out. Re: Keyless Entry - Canadian CRV's ?
Hi,
What is the use even if it can be done. The range is so short for usefulness. I just ignored OEM, installed after market unit for RKE and remote start. With one fob, I control door lock, tail gate lock, remote start. The whole reason for this post is to determine if I can leverage
factory-installed gear to get keyless entry for $75 Cdn versus $200 Cdn for what the dealer (or after-market) charges... Re: Keyless Entry - Canadian CRV's ?
I'm not sure whether Canadian CRV's are equipped with the keyless
entry but can guarantee that the US models do have it and the dealers WILL NOT tell you that. I bought my keyless entry remotes from this website along with a few others accessories and was totally satisfied. http://handaaccessories.com/crv01.html The operation to program the keyless entry took only a couple of minutes and works flawlessly !!
