Mechanic breaks PCV, PT.2---long story, sorry, I'm pissed!!!!!FUcking Firestone suxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
Or at least this Firestone. I'm not saying every Firestone sux. JUST THIS
ONE. COIT/CAMPBELL, RICHARDSON,TX. I take my '92 Teg back to Firestone today (@8:45 AM, mind you, & had a 10 AM appt.) to complete the PCV valve assembly that they broke while replacing the PCV valve a few days ago. (I also bought the parts they needed). They say, after 6 hours, that the mechanic is still working on the PCV assembly, trying to get to the hose the valve connects to in the valve cover/crankcase (whatever). Dude says it's ready, & it's 5:30 pm. Thank God I didn't have to pay per hour, but just $50 to complete the labor. Anyway, they say they had to take a (or "the") heater hose off the engine to get to the pcv valve assembly, & drain the radiator & refill it. He said--"oh, there's new radiator fluid in there", & I said "radiator fluid", & he said "yeah, we had to take the heater hose off & drain the radiator to get to the pcv assembly". "So, we refilled the radiator, & you have new coolant fluid". I say "OK,wow, sounds like it was a bitch of a job". I also paid for new rear tires, & a tire rotation/balance. Ok, so I go home, which is about a 10 min. drive (not too far), & "PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!"---my Teg is steaming!!! I'm thinking---"Ahhhh ---they f'd up again!!!!!". I call 'em back, & dude there says "Hey, it's prolly just coolant fluid that leaked onto the exhaust system & is just burning off---it'll be OK". Since I'm not a mechanic, that comforts me slightly, but IO still have a hunch the "mechanic" there FORGOT to put in coolant fluid. I wait a few hours, & pop the radiator top, & DAMN IT, sure enough---DRY AS A BONE. No coolant. They had no f'n fluid at all in there. I knew it. On top of that, Since I bought 2 new tires, I paid for & specifically requested a tire rotation because my Teg id front wheel drive, so the good new tires go on front, & rotate the older ones to the back. Well, they didn't do that either. They gave me the tires, but no rotation. Man I'm pissed now. I had an old carton of 1/2 full Albertson's antifreeze that I managed to put in there, & put water in to fill it up. I'm going back tomorrow to raise hell. My Lord. Where all all the good HONEST mechanics these days? Actually I know some, but the rest just care about going home to party their drunk assses off & in the meantime don't give a about their customers' rides. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH just have to vent here. Sorry all. I know "mechanics" are human too, & make mistakes, but this many f'n mistakes?????????????? --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Firestone in Allen on Mc Dermont is pretty good.....when I needed a special

It's a handling thing. you can control a front tire problem, the rear will go where it wants to if it has a problem. vehicle manufacturers have been saying this for years. Chip |

Not that we have to deal with it here in Texas....hell, we've already had near 90 degree weather! |
