New Honda 'Fit' Question

Hi all,

Whats the word on the street about the Honda Fit... any big issues or
gotchas?

I need a reliable car asap, and the Fit fits the pocketbook. I'm
thinking about the 5 speed.

Also, does anyone know if honda still prints factory shop manuals? I'd
like to get the dealer to throw in a set if I can pull it off.

Thanks,

Erik

The last time I saw reviews on the Fit, it was a good car. I've seen
them on the street and they look a bit small with a high center of
gravity (at least to my eye). Might want to check the insurance cost
on one before you buy it so there are no surprises. Google for honda
fit and likely you find some forums on that car and it will definitely
give you some pointers.

Honda FSMs are distributed by helminc.com. Some of the dealers will order
them for you through their parts dept. See if the one you're dealing with
does. If so, they might be willing to deal that way. Never hurts to ask.

So much so that it looks like it would weathervane or sail in a stiff
breeze.

My sister has an '07. She loves it. No major problems. Few TSB's even.

You can buy the OEM Honda manuals direct from your dealer. If you buy them
at the same time as the car, they can come at a substantial discount from
what they would be as a separate purchase.

A a city car, it seems great. If you do lots of highway driving, the
entry level Civic will ride better and probably even get better gas
mileage on the highway - the Fit has a smaller motor that revs higher on
the freeway. It (the Civic) also has better crash resistance.

A co-worker has one, I have been in it a ton, drives very well. Lots
of room (I am 6'2"), very peppy on the highway. Fit and finish look
very good, I would consider one for one of my girls

I just got my new one 5 days ago and love it.
So far I am happy with it. It's just right for me.
Lots of head room.
