Odyssey brakes question

Our 2001 model has 23K miles, about 10K of which has been pure highway. The
rest is neighborhood trips. Should I follow the manual in this case for
having the brakes checked?

It's a heavy car, and brakes nowadays are soft and wear much faster than
they used to. It'd be cheap insurance to have them checked. Don't be
too surprised if the pads should need replacing.
