Ordering parts to the UK from the US: SUCCESS!!!

Hello,

I posted recently asking about getting a window regulator for
my 97 Accord Wagon shipped to the UK. Both Majestic
Honda and hparts.com told me they no longer ship to other
countries, and I was beginning to give up hope. I also tried
several other on-line parts sites, many of whom didn't even
respond when I emailed to ask whether shipping to the UK
was an option.

Then I came across www.partspalace.com based in NJ. The
guy who emailed me back was called Werner Buchner, and
he could not have been more helpful. Even when I accidentally
ordered two regulators instead of one, I only had to email him
and he replied promptly saying he would update the order.

The part was ~$160 including shipping and tax, which is about
£100. A Honda dealer in the UK would have charged me
£250 for (almost exactly) the same part!!!

I ordered the regulator last Saturday morning, it was shipped
on Monday (USPS), and I got it on Friday. I have installed
it and it worked perfectly apart from one slight hitch which
was my fault anyway! (see PS below)

I just thought I would put a recommendation on here, since in
the past others from the UK have asked about ordering from
the US, and I thought this place might be able to help some
people out.

Cheers,
Al Reynolds

PS One note of warning...

Although I ordered the right hand window regulator, in the US
the RH is the passenger side, so the window motor only has two
connections, allowing up or down. On the driver side, there are
normally four connections because there is an option to make the
window go all the way down. This means my driver side window
now doesn't have the "all-the-way-down" option, although from
looking at the motor, I think you could have soldered the other
two connections on pretty easily. If anyone wants any more info
about this they can ask me here or email me direct. Just watch
out when you're ordering US parts that you remember which side
you need!

Congrats on getting good service on "my" side of the pond. International
shipping has been a PITA since 9/11 attacks. Good to know there are still a
few companys that will go out of their way.
