PCV Valve on 99 Honda Accord and Hard-to-press Gas Padal
This is probably an obvious question, but I just want to double check.
Is the PCV valve on the 1999 Honda Accord LX located just right on top of the engine sort of in the middle? I don't have a repair manual, but I think the valve in the middle of the engine pointing towards the cabin and connected to a small hose is the one. Could someone please confirm this? Also, has anyone experienced a gas padal that is very hard to press when you start the vehicle regardless whether the engine is warmed up or not? I have this problem for quite a long time on my 1999 Honda Accord LX. Every time I start the car, the gas padal requires more force to get pressed down. After it has been pressed down a couple times during normal driving, it is fine until the next time I start the car again. Does anyone know if this is a known problem or have any recommended fix? Thanks, Eddy |

According to this drawing of a 1999 4-door manual transmission Accord LX, yes: http://tinyurl.com/25d4l (Item 2 is the PCV valve) Having the new PCV valve in your hand while you're finding the old one may help, though it sounds like you nailed it already. :-) Consider checking and/or replacing the grommet in which the PCV valve sits (item 5), too. |

Your throttle body needs to be cleaned. What you are pressing is
actually the thing that opens a butterfly devise that controls the air flow to the cylinders. See your local parts store guy for a can of spray cleaner, and help with what to do. bob Eddy wrote: > > Also, has anyone experienced a gas padal that is very hard to press > when you start the vehicle regardless whether the engine is warmed up > or not?
