Pros & cons Accord coupe and Accord sedan
 

I'm looking at trading up this spring from my Civic to an Accord. It
will have a standard transmission. I like the stying of the coupe, and
practically never have more than 1 passenger, so 2 doors are enough.
But I think I have heard that the sedan is quiter. And that can be an
advantage on long trips. So my question is, is there a noticeable
difference in road noise? What other differences should I take into
consideration?

The smaller doors of a sedan make it much easier for the driver to get
into/out-of the car when there is not much room to open the door; ie: in
tight parking spots which seems to be the norm these days.

I like my two door because the back edge of the door pillar isn't at my
shoulder when I turn to look out the window. Two less doors to clean and
dry. Less weight. Fewer things to wear out. Good excuse to not be able
to drive a bunch of people around. ("Lets take your car, there's more
room.") bob

Grommet,
Unless I missed it, I believe that you failed to tell use whether or not
you have any children that will be riding in the car or plan to make heavy
use of the rear seat to store things or carry passengers. If so, you
should buy the sedan. If not, buy the coupe--as far as the engine and
tranny--they are the same in the sedan and coupe. I don't know about the
noise factor--it's my guess that it's about the same in both the coupe and
sedan.

Unless I missed it, I believe that you failed to tell use whether or not
you have any children that will be riding in the car or plan to make heavy
use of the rear seat to store things or carry passengers. If so, you
should buy the sedan. If not, buy the coupe--as far as the engine and
tranny--they are the same in the sedan and coupe. I don't know about the
noise factor--it's my guess that it's about the same in both the coupe and
sedan.

also check with your insurance company as a two door may be considered a
sports car even with the same motor as a 4 door and they may charge you
more, or they may charge you less based on some other information.

i have a 2003 accord coupe ex-l (2.4 - 5spd). i love this car. i have a
wife and son. what do we drive when we all have to go somewhere
together? "Let's drive Daddddddooooo's car!!!"

whenever you can. the coupe is a dying breed. we can't let that happen!

the thing about kids and loading into the backseat, well, the passenger
seat folds forward really nice. easy access to the rear seat.

I have an 2004 Accord EX-L coupe V6 6MT. It is a very quick car but doesn't
handle or ride all that great. The 2004 Accord I have is not put together
real well either. Too many creaks and rattles.

The redesign of the Accords in 2003 made the front dash area longer to the
windshield. Switching from a Civic to a 2005 Accord will probably feel to
you like you are driving from the back seat.

I would recommend you wait for the new redesigned Civics' in 2006 that
reportedly will have a 200hp 4 cyl available. The next redesign of Accords
will most likely happen in 2008.

I have an 2004 Accord EX-L coupe V6 6MT. It is a very quick car but doesn't
handle or ride all that great. The 2004 Accord I have is not put together
real well either. Too many creaks and rattles.
