Re: 1995 Honda civic coupe
your problem is what is called the main relay. When the car is
cold, the vehicle will start,it will run for approximatley an hour or muntil it gets nice and warm, then shuts off and when it cols down,it will restart again. This info comes from a 8 year honda certified mechanicOn Tue, 23 Nov 2004 03:04:28 GMT, saj <saj.1g5lex@realcaraudio.com> wrote: > >hi > >i have a 1995 honda civic coupe 1.5 n it doesnt start . > >1) All electrical components work (radio, lights, dashboard, air >conditioning, steroe etc...) >2) the car is turnin as u can hear the clicks >3) fuel pump has been chkd, coil and module in distributor is fine, >battery is fine. >4) timing belt has been changed >5) if the car has been left ova night then it will start and u can use >the car 4 about an hour b4 it will cut off, then u will have to wait a >few hours 4 it 2 cool down b4 it will start again. > >if ne1 knows what the problem could be then please tell me > >would most appriciate it |

Re: 1995 Honda civic coupe
Hi
This may just be a stab in the dark, but I am wondering if the car 'thinks' it is overheating - two temperature sensors are present on the car: one for your instrument panel and one for your power train control module. Perhaps the second one - when failed - senses overheating, causing the car to do weird things and shut down. Since the sensor attached to your instrument panel is totally independent from it, you would not see it by looking at your temperature gauge. It is a guess, because usually when those sensors fail the car becomes hard to start but maybe another failure mode exists. Hope you find it soon.
