I haven't had a chance to go and actually look in the new ones but it
looks like Nissan's all-new Quest may be the one for the year. Honda
has got to stop resting on the rep it made in the '80's and get back
in the game..

Jesus. Well, the Nissan is finally into Odyssey territory, just like
the Sienna is finally into Odyssey territory.

Honda sat back and waited and watched, and let Toyota and Nissan speak
first. Remember, whoever speaks first, loses. In 2005, Honda will come
out with the vehicle that slaps both of them down, no question. We all
know the 2005 model is the redesign.

I think waiting out 2004 was a good investment for Honda.

Besides, I've seen the Nissan. Nothing earth shattering; just finally
competitive, that's all. But that leather--UGLY.

Don't tell me that Nissan is on that Saddle Leather (puke mustard
yellowish vomit brown) kick that a few of the others are on. The
guages in the Murano are bad enough...

Worse than that: it's the puke mustard yellowish vomit brown leather,
WITH SPOTS. Leather that (a) feels like vinyl, and (b) looks like it's
aimed at 18 year olds.

On Motoring 2003, a Canadian TV autoshow, the new Quest was reviewed
and the tester pointed out right away his complaint with the leather
and the overall interior feel of it. With all the new cars they've
come out with, the Murano, the 350Z, Maxima and now the Quest, fit &
finish of the interior was always in the list of lows or complaints in
the reviews I've read.

Looks as though Nissan needs to improve in that area of quality
control.
