Re: Engine cooling problems
The characteristics you mentioned sound normal or perhaps slightly higher
than normal. Make sure the rad is not full of busted bugs. Give it a good rinsing off with the water hose from the outside in and inside out if possible. There are some that say the thermostat should be changed every 2 years. For the sake of the cost of a thermostat, give that a try. Also check rad level by removing cap and looking in. Don't just go by the overflow bucket. DON'T remove rad cap while hot. Make sure you can squeeze both sides of the upper rad hose together before removing rad cap. Goodluck |
Re: Engine cooling problems
Replace the thermostat every 2 years? The part may be cheap but the
labor cost at the shop -- or tedious hassle if you DIY -- is incredible. No thank you... John D.
