Question, for my own benefit, does that seven years start after the 3/36
Honda factory warranty, or does it start once you take delivery of the car?

We were offered the warranties when we talked to the finance guy, but since
we're in a 36 mo lease it didn't make sense to spring for the extended
warranty. Didn't stop them from pushing it though...

You can do better than that price. Here's a contact I got from
somewhere else. Megan Seaton works at a Honda dealer on the east coast
somewhere. They sell the Honda care warranty for $40 over cost. Her
quote to me on my '03 Accord 4 cyl for a zero deductible 7 yr / 100K
miles is $750. Apparently the price goes up $60 when the car hits 2
yrs or 24K miles. Here's her email address:
Megan Seaton <meganseaton1@yahoo.com>

Extended warranties timing and mileage are figured from delivery date.
When I asked her why to buy now, she had two responses (and no
pressure). The first is that the price is set annually and may go up
after the first of the year, and second, you then get the roadside
assistance starting now. Not huge advantages, but who knows how the
prices will change. On my '95 Camry I waited until the car was almost
out of its 3 yr / 36K warranty, and that worked just fine.

Cheers

Tom

Re: honda care pricing--what did you pay?

Time and mileage are based from the time of purchase, not expiration of base
warranty. So a 7 year ext warranty is really only 4 years.
