Thanks for all the thoughtful replies. I've found the dome light switch
and what is possibly another small round switch under a rubber mat on
the car frame where the door closes. The dome light switch works for
controlling the dome light, but the small object to its right doesn't
seem to have any press play. I had looked under the seat before and
didn't find a wire harness. I'll look again. Is it possibly bundled up
somewhere making it hard to see? Hopefully the solution can be found on
the door switch or seat. If it calls for removing the steering column
I'm afraid it's back to the dealer for me as I'm not confident in my
skills. I haven't tried Mike's suggestion to pad the switch area, but I
will. Thanks again and please keep any info coming.
