Mention "Service News June 03" page 1. IMPORTANT ...just because there is a
service news article doesnt mean this is what your vehicle is doing. Your
idea of going for a ride with a tech at time of drop off is great (read:
essential). Just make sure they are expecting this with your appointment.

I will not post copyrighted Honda service publications. Honda Service News -
June 03 has...on page #1, right hand side of the page...a reference similar
to the symtom you have described. I just read it myself and it would be easy
for your service advisor/technician to have not seen it yet. It may not
apply so I wont go into details. -just trying to help. Let me know if
you'd rather I not and I won't do it again.

I've already performed the throttle cable bracket adjustment on my
Pilot long ago when I started experiencing my pinging/tapping problem
soon after I got the car. I still have the p/t noise problem though
and despite a couple of testdrives with the technician who told me
that he didn't hear anything unusual.

My p/t noise is on the faint side, not the usual loud noise level
you'd get on a older car. Still, I was expecting the technician to
spot it out.
