Does the Haynes or Honda manuel assist you with diagnosing your problems? Or does it only help if you already know what the problem is and what needs to be fixed? Thanks Bill.

I believe your Honda is 2.3L. The manual made by Haynes would probably be
cheaper. Call 1-805-498-6703. The number of the manual is 42014. You might
consider changing the water pump at the same time since it's located under
the timing belt cover. I advise you to buy the official Honda manual or
the Haynes manual before you do it.

The Haynes manual has a troubleshooting section towards the very front
of the book. You could also get a basic troubleshooting book -- also
at automotive stores -- that apply to all modern cars in general. I've
used those to help in my diagnoses through the years, to get a
"concensus" of the reference sources -- such as my Clymer, Haynes and
the Chilton troubleshooting guide for my 1973 Datsun 1200 for example
-- to determine WTH the problem is!

Why don't you go to your local Pep Boys/AutoZone/Checker/Kragen or
whatever and look for a Haynes manual for your car...most are
shrink-wrapped but some are already opened, either by customers or
sales people. Page through it and see if you think it'll meet your
needs or not.

If you don't mind spending money, get the official dealership factory
shop manual for your car, but I don't know if those have
troubleshooting sections or not.
