Re: Video of Honda's Hydrogen Powered Sports Car
There are too major problems with fuel cell powered electric cars. For
one, how will you get the NG, from which the hydrogen reformer obtains the hydrogen? Secondly the current price of hydrogen is around five to six times as much as PREMIUM grade gasoline. Both GM and Ford have fuel cell powered electric cars, as well as engines that car BURN hydrogen, but the reason they have not come to market IS the fact there is no readily available supply of NG for vehicles and the high cost of hydrogen. The sad part is, currently we BURN off NG at the well head and at the refineries because the current NG lines around the country can not take enough of it to meet the current demand. Can you engine how the Environuts and the NIMBY ninnies will react to any effort to build hundreds of thousands more miles of NG lines around the country. Let alone any effort to build MILLIONS of miles, for a whole new system to distribute hydrogen around the country to burn in an engine or from which to reform hydrogen?
