Sticky Pair of Switches - How to Fix?

1986 Prelude Si. Rear defogger/ Hazard warning switches both stick ON. They are push-on, push-off type. I had them replaced once but the new ones were worse, and have gotten even worse. For years I got by, but now I have a 3-year-old car nut who WON'T LEAVE IT ALONE!It's now winter so its not so bad to have the rear defogger stuck on

Running the rear window defogger all of the time can put a strain on the
alternator as it tries to keep up with the current draw. For this reason,
many newer cars now have 10-15 minute timers on the switch.

I suspect that you could try removing the switches and cleaning them out
with some contact cleaner. I like the LPS contact cleaner but there are
less expensive brands available.

Plain silicone spray is avaulable at all auto parts shops, or WalMart.
It will not harm plastics or electronics, and it doesn't attract grunge,
like a dino-based lube would.

The back of the switch breaks and pushes out. Replace the switch assembly.

Replace the switch. I have many Honda switches laying around... all work...
you email me a digital picture of it I may be able to find you a switch (you

switches... may work on preludes too...
