Sway bar
When I got my 88 HB std, it didn't have a front sway bar for some reason. I
just found one on ebay for 10 bucks used! BUT, it's from a 4 door civic from the same year. I don't know if it would fit my car, because I don't wanna buy it to find out later that it doesn't fit. Any help deeply appreciated. |
Re: Sway bar
Are you sure you're not describing the upper strut bar? They never came
standard except in the SiRs. Their diagrams indicate that the '88 3 door STD 5spd did not come with a front sway bar. However, the '88 3 door DX 5spd had one. The '88 4 door DX also has a sway bar but from their diagrams uses a different part number. The 4 doors use a 19mm front sway bar. It could be that the 3 door DX just used a smaller diameter. Or, it could be that the body widths differ between the 3 door and the 4 door models (which doesn't seem likely). It might be best to call or visit a Honda dealer (or some other parts retailer) and inquire if the one from the 4 door will fit. Eric |
