Syntetic oil for Honda Accord.

I own 1997 Honda Accord and was wondering how much better using syntetic
oil
would be?
I have never used syntetic before, is it worth while to switch now?
Do I still have to change every 5000km if I use syntetic oil? I heard
someone said that it is ok to change every 20000 km if you use syntetic, is
it true?
Since I am new to syntetic oil, any information will be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know where I can find owner manuals and/or repair manuals for my
car on the net?

Regards,
Walter.

Not for free if that's what you were thinking. Certainly not the shop
manuals.

If you want to buy one you can try Helminc.com. And eBay usually seems
to have a variety being offered. There is also a company called
books4cars that has a massive collection of all sorts of books for older
or more obscure models.

Re: Syntetic oil for Honda Accord.

Synthetic oil comes in two flavors, synthetic blend and a pure synthetic.
They are both higher in price that non-synthetic oils especially the pure
synthetics. If you change your oil and filter faithfully you may want to
consider using a non-synthetic 5w-30 oil and save money. If you have 75,000
miles or more on your vehicle consider high mileage oil. The key is to keep
up with your maintenance schedule. I'm still a believer in the 3month/3,000
mile rule. If you want to stretch your intervals, than yes - you may want to
consider a fully synthetic oil.

Good luck.
