Are there VIN sticker inside Honda wheels?

I just got a new Accord recently and the dealer swapped (after much
complaining!) out the wheels on the passenger side with those from another
new one on the lot to correct a vibration issue that couldn't be balanced
out.

I see VIN stickers all over the vehicle...are they in the wheels too
meaning I have two wheels with a different VIN sticker?

You may have VIN engraved on the windows and wind sheild, but I have never
seen any one put VIN on tires.

He asked about wheels, not tires. Not really an unreasonable question.

Re: Are there VIN sticker inside Honda wheels?

Yeah, minutes, after you jack up the car and take off the lug nuts, which if
you're lucky aren't on so tight you can't get them off. And then, once you
have your "instant answer," you get to put them back on and torque the nuts
properly with your torque wrench. You DO have a torque wrench, right?

Or you could ask the question and hope you get an accurate answer.

I have VIN stickers in places on my '00 Accord where I never would have
dreamed of looking on my '87 Civic -- because they weren't there. Who's to
say they're not putting them on the wheels five years later?

....and the Automotive Industry Action Group, http://www.aig.org, has been
working on putting RFID tags into tires so that cars can be tracked
electronically through the assembly lines. Sure, so why have they made
these tags readable from 14.8 ft at speeds up to 100 Mph? It would seem to
me that they want to track the cars AFTER they've left the assembly line.

That's just a characteristic of RFID tags in general. The tag doesn't
determine the distance or time required to read them - that's all a matter
of the sensing equipment. Much like your face can be photographed from a
hundred yards away at 100 mph; it was not a design consideration.
