Thinking of Insight
 

Hello, I am thinking of buying an insight. I live in a large metro city so
will basically only be driving in the city. I had heard interstate driving
can make the insight sway. I am curious about the reliability of the
batteries and the car overall. I had a prelude and a civic both of which I
drove till they died--they were great cars! Comments?

If you're used to Civic, and like them, you might be happier with a Civic
Hybrid. The Insight is an earlier rendition and not as advanced as the
Civic. Also, it has some issues with back seat room, due to the battery
being under the seat. Believe the resale value would be low, since they seem
to be hard to sell. One down the street, near me, has been posted for six
months, without selling.

The space available for the back seat passengers is the same for the
Civic Hybrid as the conventional Civic Sedan. What is different is the
trunk space, 10.1 cubic feet for the Civic Hybrid vs. 12.9 for the
regular Civic Sedan.

Now, the Insight has some serious limitations on back seat space...

Toyota made a new model of the Prius in 2004 and it was the Motor Trend
car of the year for 2004. I don't know whether it is more powerful than
the Civic Hybrid. You should test drive both of them.

Where I live in Nebraska, if you have a alternative fuel car they stick it
in your ass, and make you buy a alternative fuel permit, $75 a year.

in your ass, and make you buy a alternative fuel permit, $75 a year.

the government (except perhaps in the medical profession). Seems from

Hard to see the distinction, as every joule of energy used by either

the government (except perhaps in the medical profession). Seems from
