Tires - 2002 CR-V

Greetings all;

I'm looking for opinions on replacement tires for my CR-V. Most of the
driving is on highway so I'm not looking for all-terrain, although I live on
a dirt road that is low on the priority list when the snow plows come out
after a storm. I'm hoping that the road noise might be somewhat reduced with
new tires as well.

Thanks for your input.

Bill

If snow handling is important, I'd seriously consider the Nokian WR.
They're all-season tires, but with emphasis on winter capability. They're
pretty quiet too. I just bought a set for my g/f - she's using them on her
Jetta up in Wisconsin.

I put Yokohama Avid Touring tires in 215R65 size on my '02 CRV, great
tires. I live in the Puget Sound area, so wet weather handling is
important to me, but they should be decent in moderate snow conditions.
They are quiet and seem to wear well, and they aren't real expensive,
either.

Don't change the size, a larger tire may rub on bumps and, throw off the
speedo and sling mud on the sides of the car in wet weather, especially when
cornering.

Re: Tires - 2002 CR-V

Greetings all;

If anyone is interested, I finally decided on the Michelin Hydroedge. I
have put over 1,000 kilometres on them through hard rain and some slippery
roads and so far I'm impressed. The road noise is greatly reduced. I've also
not been able to get them to hydroplane even through the worst of the
conditions I usually deal with on some very rutted roads. I'm waiting for
another good snow fall to see how they do then.

I'm also hoping they last as long as Michelin would have you believe.
Thanks for all your input.
