That may or may not be true with other fluids made by other companies. Why take a chance? A good flush is worth while. It's not generic anymore. Honda doesn't recommend a flush; however, they may recommend a procedure to replace most of the oil. In the newer Odyssey, they recommend drain, replace, drive a few minutes, then repeat--for a total of four times. Since draining only gets a few quarts of fluid out, this process will get most of the old stuff out--or dilute it with new stuff enough that whatever's left over isn't important. |
