Trouble with Prelude ---- Need suggestions
considering buying a used Prelude, as I've wanted one for a while now,
but the issue with this car is that it has a bad syncronizer between 1st and 2nd gear. I've read up on how this all works, but what I want to know is (and consider that I can't afford to fix this problem for probably another year): How long can I drive the car in this condition? What bad affects might it possibly have towards the operation of the car? and......Is it even worth buying the car, knowing I probably won't be able to fix it right away? car is for $4500 with 84,000 miles |
Re: Trouble with Prelude ---- Need suggestions
I had an 89 MR2 with a bad 2nd gear synchro, drove it that way for 2 1/2
years. Upshifts aren't too bad as long as you are a reasonable driver, and for downshifts - well, learn to double-clutch. :) Cars didn't always have synchros, you know. :) "javamite" <javamite@i-55.com> wrote in message news:orfiqv0m2jtgcc2nvelpcdhs4boj8eseef@4ax.com... > considering buying a used Prelude, as I've wanted one for a while now, > but the issue with this car is that it has a bad syncronizer between > 1st and 2nd gear.
