update to my CRX issue
 

ok, i got both filters replaced, and replaced a few hoses. low and behold,
the beast fired up for about 10 seconds without carb spray! problem now is
this: when it was on, appears it was flooded out really quick. the gas was a
brown-ish colour and i suspect this is why the car wouldnt stay on. also,
when the intake is off, there is a litte brass-coloured pipe sticking out..
and when i gave it gas, gas came out of this. if i reattach the intake,
should this stop spewing gas everywhere (obviously it will, but is there
possibly a hose or something i may be missing?)? many thanks for the help
you guys have given me. that link to the service manual was invaluable in
this operation.
