vibration in Civic clutch pedal
Hey, I have a 2000 Civic SiR Coupe. I have had it into the local Honda
dealership 4 times for a squeeky/stiff moving clutch pedal. they have "lubbed" it everytime.. even when I insist that they just replace whatever needs to be replaced and get it over with. Now .. after all that the pedal doesn' t make a noise BUT when pressing it down (never on the up motion) in preperation to shifting up in the gears I get a viberation in the pedal/foot all the way to the floor. In traffic it can be quite anoying. .. :( seems it is related to the clutch having load on it cause it does not vibrate if the car is sitting still. I took it back in and the service manager took it for a spin just to tell me "everything is fine". I don't agree. Why should i feel anything if the clutch pedal isn't acually connected to the clutch plate.. cause if i am not mistaken this is a hydraulic clutch and there is just a pressure line from the pedal to the clutch plate/tranny area..??. any input ? - - - - - - - dave |
Re: vibration in Civic clutch pedal
Gee, it may sound like you have a faulty clutch press plate or bearing and they are both expensive. No, you should not feel anything when th clutch is down. You may feel jerks when the clutch is semi-connected but that actually is not your pedal, but the motion from car chassi propagated by the pedal - GusTheCa ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted via RealCarAudio.com - The checkmate of the caraudio community http://www.RealCarAudio.co GusTheCat's Profile: http://www.realcaraudio.com/forums/m...nfo&userid=368 View this thread: http://www.realcaraudio.com/forums/s...?threadid=4648 |
