Ain't gonna matter enough to bother, especially after the portal takes
a cut. You'd have to get it into the dozens to save two percent. J. No. A car isn't as much of a commodity item as, say, DVD players. No dealer is going to "give away" cars when he can sell them to someone else and make an additional $100-$4,000 in profit. Now, the sole exception to this rule may be a Chrysler/Dodge dealer. Most of them are drowning in '06s thanks to Chrysler's weird "sales bank" policy. Look it up, it's insane. |

As much as I agree with you that no dealer is going to give away cars, no dealer is also going to pass up $100,000 (assuming $20K is the cost of one car) of business. The more the number of people getting together the more you will be able to negotiate especially if you time it around the dealership sales events when they are trying to get rid of inventory. |
