Whats the belt interval for a 92-96 prelude VTEC.
I'm considering a 4th gen Prelude VTEC as my next motor.
There is a possibility that I'm going to look at one from an online advert over the weekend. company selling says it is a 2.oVTEC (I know that aint right). Are there any difference between the 2.0i and the 2.2VTEC engine belt change intervals? Ad didn't list the mileage or service history, so I've asked them to confirm what it has for both and whether it is a VTEC. This will be on a UK or JDM spec car (again advert doesn't state) but it has UK style plates, rather JDM style square plates with a UK registration on. All the ad really states is the spec/options, length of test left on it, and the fact that it is a 1992. Picture looks good, and the deep red paint does not look faded at all. -- The poster formerly known as Skodapilot. http://www.bouncing-czechs.com |

Go to www.autozone.com Click on the "free repair guides" link on the right. Put
in info for the car in which you're interested. Click on "Repair Info," "Repair Guides," etc. Start looking for the link for "Routine Maintenance"; click on it when you find it. Then click on "Maintenance Schedules." If one reads closely, one will see mention of VTEC and SI in these schedules in certain sections. But no distinction is made in the TB section. All I saw for 1992-1995 Preludes' TB interval for normal operation was 90k miles/72 months. This may change for severe operation. Unfortunately, Autozone only has manuals for Hondas 1995 and earlier. So I can't help you with the 1996 Prelude question except by googling and groups.googling. Or someone will post it. :-) "MeatballTurbo" <carl.robson@bouncing-czechs.com> wrote > I'm considering a 4th gen Prelude VTEC as my next motor. > > There is a possibility that I'm going to look at one from an online > advert over the weekend. > > company selling says it is a 2.oVTEC (I know that aint right). > > Are there any difference between the 2.0i and the 2.2VTEC engine belt > change intervals? > > Ad didn't list the mileage or service history, so I've asked them to > confirm what it has for both and whether it is a VTEC. > > This will be on a UK or JDM spec car (again advert doesn't state) but it > has UK style plates, rather JDM style square plates with a UK > registration on. > > All the ad really states is the spec/options, length of test left on it, > and the fact that it is a 1992. > > Picture looks good, and the deep red paint does not look faded at all. |
