Windshield washer fluid problem

The windshield washer fluid in my 1998 Civic will not work. I push the lever
to dispense the fluid but nothing happens, just like the bottle is dry. Even
after I filled it up, same thing...

What usually causes this? It can't be too complicated...

Thanks,

Re: Windshield washer fluid problem

Try using a needle to clean out the nozzles.

Suggested checklist:

1 Does the motor run? If not, fuse / connector problem. See Owner's
Manual.
2 Remove a hose (ahead of nozzle) and see if water squirts out.
3 If not, suck on hose to be sure one-way valve isn't dried out (my
Odyssey had that problem)
4 You might have to apply vacuum (suck) for a minute or two if valve is
dry. Once it gets wet, it's cured.

And also make sure the there are no leaks in the hoses under the hood. Mine
were bitten by a squirrel and they were leaking so no water reached the
nozzles. I replaced the nozzles and everything went back to normal.

Meant to say "replaced the hoses and everything went back to normal."
