1993 Prelude, Automatic Shifts Hard?
 

Hey guys i need some help, i got a 93 prelude, H23 non v-tec and i find its jerky when it shifts, is this normal, it aint slipping, it just shifts a little hard i find, can u help me out? and when its cold it revs up and down and it sputters some, some ppl say its my oxygen sensors, ? are they right, ? thanks for the help















as far as the sputtering goes, i have a small hole in my exhaust right by the oxygen sensor, when snow gets in there, could it be gettin wet and makin it studder, help me out please

I'd be changing the transmission filter and fluid due to the vehicles age and the fact that transmission fluid wears out , plus the fact certain chemicals used in transmission fluids are to prevent jerking etc.















For sure if you've a hole in a pipe near by the o2 sensor it's causing problems and should be fixed bec cars will do a lot of strange things when they loose compression via exhaust faults.Plus on a car that old it's bound to have high mileage so I'd change that o2 sensor when fixing the exhaust leak.















I'd also be over hauling that vehicles full electrical system bec I bet it could use it and electrical faults can cause many different types and ranges of problems. Clean the battery's, starter , alternator , posts and connectors with fine sandpaper and assorted wire brushes and flat headed screwdrivers, plus do all the grounds especially the engine block ground , clean any plug in connectors and contacts, especially the ignition coil, clean and re-gap the spark plugs , clean the spark plug wire connectors and connections and all sensors. I'd even take each fuse or relay out one by one and clean the fuse and fuse panels contacts to the fuse with a small flat headed screw driver etc.
