Is a 95 Honda Prelude S a good starting platform?
It has a 2.2L F22a1 engine, stock, no performance upgrades...I'm a senior in high school and I'm graduating, and i want to fix up my car mildly, I want to go with the naturally aspirated way...I'm willing to spent 500 dollars

a prelude is a good start. rare but reliable cars.
unfortunately 500 bucks won't get you too far, but it's a start. |
I used to drive a 1993 Honda Prelude S with the same 2.2L F22a1 engine. It was my first car. I LOVED that car. It died on me at about 220,000 miles.. I could've fixed it but I never did and ended up selling it for $450 and I've regretted it.
It is an amazing car. Handles so well, and even at 220,000 miles, the engine was still very good. I also love the low seating position, and even though the engine is only bout 140hp.. it was still so much fun. If I could go back and get that car again new, I would do it in a heartbeat. Or maybe the Si-VTEC version, that was a bada$$ engine. Oh yeah can't forget the exterior and interior styling. It was years ahead of it's time. It still looks awesome when I see one on the road. |
