Should I sell my car and buy a new one or should I pay 1200 for maintenance...
...and keep for 2 more years? Okay, I have an 01 Base Honda Prelude with 77k miles. I bought it last july and am still paying on it. KBB for trade is 7700 at worst case I owe a little less than a grand below that. It needs to get the timing belt and big maintenance done on it. All in all I am looking at 1200 bucks for everything to get it running really well.
I plan to have children in the next couple of years and am looking to get a four door car that still has some spunk to within the same time. I like the new Honda Civic si and I could get one with like 7k miles in my area for around $20,500. My question is should I just use the money for the timing belt and the difference I would get for my prelude to just get the newer car now and pay the higher monthly bill but only have to deal with smaller maintenance costs? I am really not sure what I should do? Please help. Well thought out answers will help. Thank you in advance...:) |
considering the prelude is extremely hard to find, and precious to many fans of it, you should definately get it fixed, drive it for a little longer than trade it in.
if your looking for a family car, the civic may be a little too small if your looking for more htan three or four people. Try looking into a roomier camry, or accord. but if you do end up getting the civic, you'll love it just as much as your prelude! good luck and happy selling! |
