would it be a good idea to buy a honda prelude with 40k on motor but 182k on
the body for 2500$? i just want to know if the mileage on the body is a big deal?

Yea..The miles on the motor are what counts....the fact that its a new motor is really half the battle and 2500 is a good price.
** always try to work a better deal. |
the only reason the milage on the body would be a big deal is if it had twisted or bowed anywhere. just check the body for any "unusual" lumps or even stress marks in the paint work, unless he has had it resprayed

Yes, the mileage is a big deal.
Suspension work alone. This is a BAD deal. 1000-1500 TOPS. |
It really depends on where you are. I live in a city that's very close to the ocean. We get snow about six or seven months of the year, and the city uses salt on the roads to control ice. These things added up make things very hard on a car's body. The city is also built on several valleys, and the hills are steep, making things very hard on a car's suspension, brakes and transmission.
It's very hard where I live to find a road-worthy car that is more than ten years old. If you live on a prairie town where it never snows, I'd say go for it. |
